Vocations

If you have come to know the Jesus Child Catholic Community and felt God’s call to participate in this work, we list three paths. You can follow one of them to also be part of our Nazareth Family. They are:

Volunteer

If you identify with the Jesus Child Catholic Community, but already have your personal life, your work, your projects in the church and have already assumed your mission in the world, whether in marriage, in the priesthood or in religious life, being single, but have sympathy for the charisma of the Community and also want to donate your life for this work of God, then be a volunteer.

You can help us in various ways, being a promoter of the work, a benefactor, who after going through a preparation course with the members of the Community, can serve one day a week or month to the Community, either through the diaper project, which manufactures geriatric diapers, help with services in the house, school or communication sector, being able to develop various functions through your gift. In addition, you can participate in various events promoted by the Community throughout the year. You will enter this path of volunteering by receiving the schedule of events and will have a co-participation in the life of the Community, living your experience in your home, but being a gift of love for the Jesus Child Catholic Community.

Consecrated Layperson

If you feel God’s call to become a consecrated layperson, you should write an email to the Community (vocational@comunidadejesusmenino.org.br) telling your entire life story. What attracted you to
be a life member of the Catholic Community Jesus Child?

It is important to report your entire personal life, work, and church, mentioning what services you perform in the Holy Church to have been called to live this experience of walking with the Catholic Community Jesus Child. In this history, we also need to get details about your family life.

After sending the email with the subject: Consecrated Layperson, you should wait, as an internal analysis will be done in the Community by the training team and we will give you feedback.
If approved by our members, you will be called for a visit to the Community. After the visit, there is a follow-up of this discernment path, which initially has a period of six months. Throughout this time, much dialogue, prayer, email exchanges, guidance, and constant sharing. Remembering that this is a life commitment that will be assumed with God and with each child of the Community.

After participating in the visit to the Community, you will start to walk a path of experience within our house, for three months, so that you can better understand the daily life of a consecrated layperson.

When this period ends, you will return to your family, so that you can talk about your experience in the Community and decide if there really is a desire to renew the commitment to stay in the Community, this time, for a period of one year.

After this experience of one year inserted in the Community, you will be evaluated to know if there really is God’s direction to become a vocation and if you can continue to walk the path
of consecration.

This whole process is essential so that you are sure that you are fit to be really an adoptive father or mother, because the responsibility of consecrated life of the Catholic Community Jesus Child is a consecrated life project with fatherhood and motherhood, it is not enough just to want to be a consecrated religious, but also have to want and feel this call of paternal and maternal experience, which is from that person who adopts and generates children in the heart.

Always asking for much light from the Holy Spirit throughout this formation course, to be sure that you have this gift of adoptive father and mother and can develop it day by day with the
donation of life to each Jesus Child who lives in the Community. Therefore, it is necessary to go through this period of 3 months, one year and then another five years, before becoming a consecrated layperson.

This is a mission of preparation, organization, but also of obedience to hear what God wants for the life of a consecrated layperson.

So, if after reading this text you want to live this vocational experience, being a person 21 years old or older, single, and who wishes to consecrate themselves to God as celibate life, send us the email. It will be a pleasure to walk this path with you!

Covenant Member

If you are married or feel in your heart the call to marriage, but also have the vocation of a consecrated layperson, you can live a vocational experience in the Catholic Community Jesus Child as a covenant member.

To be a consecrated covenant member, it can be the couple (married in the Catholic Church) or young people (single men and women) who must start the path of formation of covenant life, who consecrate themselves and commit to live according to the evangelical counsels of the Catholic Community Jesus Child, which are: chastity, obedience, and poverty.

During the formation process, you will receive a rule of life, the statute of internal life, and the spiritual life of the Community, and will live the reality of the Community in your family and in society.

To start this vocational path, you need to send us an email (vocational@comunidadejesusmenino.org.br) telling your entire life story. What attracted you to be a covenant member of the Catholic Community Jesus Child?

Your email will be evaluated by the members of the Community’s formation team and you will be invited for a visit. Then you will spend a year participating in the formations, which are always held on the second Sunday of each month, throughout the day. In addition, you will act directly in the Community events and liturgical weeks.

The vocational formation course will be one year of formation. After this experience, you will continue for another five years living the spirituality of the Community and participating in events and formations, to then make the consecration of covenant life, living your state of life as a member of the Jesus Child Community in the world.

So, if you are married or wish to get married, but also feel this call to consecrate yourself to God in the Catholic Community Jesus Child, send us the email and come and be part of our Family of Nazareth, being a covenant member who helps in events, in the structure of the Community, living the charisma in communion with our family!
