About us
Every life is a GIFT! Participate in this mission!
We provide a home and a family for those who have been excluded and abandoned for being special. Our community welcomes 44 children, young people and adults, our children, and we would like to reciprocate all help with the celebration of a mass for your intentions. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Mass celebration on Saturdays, at 7pm, with Fr. Thomas Andrade Gimenez Dias (Spiritual Director of the Catholic Community Jesus Child).
A sublime mission
For the Jesus Menino Catholic Community, welcoming is much more than providing food, a place in the sun, and clean clothes. Welcoming is, above all, about restoring dignity and forming a
family with those who have no one.
We deal with people who are excluded by society and abandoned by their families. However, it is precisely in this environment that we truly learn what it is to LOVE.
The love of those welcomed by us is unconditional, without interest. We are always surprised by lessons of tenderness, forgiveness, and detachment. This teaches us the true meaning of welcoming.
Our Charism
Living in small homes with abandoned special needs children, giving them a true Family.
The identity of the work
The Community has a soul, an identity that only those who live or have contact can understand the experience of heaven that is present in this work. It’s curious because we deal with people who are excluded by society, abandoned by their families and yet, it is precisely in this environment that we truly learn what it is to love.
Our children do not like us because of our position in society, status, or the role we occupy, they do not make calculations… The love and appreciation present themselves in an unconditional, free, and disinterested way, just as they should be. At various times we are surprised by lessons of tenderness, forgiveness, and detachment. This teaches us the true meaning of welcoming.
For the Jesus Menino Catholic Community, welcoming is much more than providing food, a place in the sun, and clean clothes, but above all, it is about restoring human dignity and forming
a family with those who have no one. This is so strong and true that many people in times of pain and difficulty seek the Community so that they too can enjoy this welcome, even if only for a moment. Hence, comes the whole meaning of the phrase that summarizes the celebration of our Work’s anniversaries. Jesus Menino Community, always Generating Lives.
Indeed, the act of restoring the dignity of those who have been excluded and abandoned enables life generation. And as it could not fail to be true life, it does not stay only within the house. Our mission transcends the barriers of walls and cities, as it reaches members, employees, benefactors, friends, volunteers, and so many other people who seek the Community. The welcome infects us and fills us with life, because at its essence is love. This enriches us and transforms us into better people.
Estrutura
Currently, the headquarters of the Jesus Menino Catholic Community is on this site donated by Italian friends, of 23 thousand square meters. A privileged location, where we already have several projects to expand the charism even more, so that in the future we can welcome even more children.
The Community relies on the help of 700 volunteers around the world, with 43 children under our care, 10 consecrated lay members, and 22 allied couples. In addition to 23 people committed
to total consecration and 24 in discernment in Brazil, 10 in Portugal, 25 committed people in Italy, and 20 committed people in the United States.
With the opportunity to travel to Italy and Germany, we were able to start the Jesus Menino Catholic Community Italy, an external support and volunteer group.
Today, we seek donations and hold retreats for vocational discernment. Together, welcomed, vocationals, volunteers, and employees form a true family.
We are ready to welcome those who wish to have a consecrated life experience with us. We also count on your prayer for new vocations, as the Mission is sublime!
